‘Tiny Treasures’ on display

December 14’s Preview of the 2017 Festival of Glass Treasure Hunt featured a collection of hand-made glass ‘Tiny Treasures’.

The ‘Tiny Treasures’ are small items that participating businesses will place (somewhere!) on their premises when the Treasure Hunt starts on 2 January; and Treasure Hunters have to spot ten Tiny Treasures to go into the draw on 19 February for prizes of glass art.

Without giving too much away, the ‘Tiny Treasures’ include a steak for Parkers Steakhouse, a glass of beer for the Drysdale Hotel, a bunch of grapes for Leura Park Estate and a picnic basket for – you guessed – Picnic Time Cafe.

Each business in the Treasure Hunt was asked what it would like for its ‘Tiny Treasure’ and (where practicable!), these were created by local glass artists.

As well as its ‘Tiny Treasure’, each business in the Treasure Hunt will also display – more prominently – a piece of glass art that it has commissioned from a local glass artist; and these pieces than become prizes in the Treasure Hunt draw at the Festival Expo at Christian College on 19 February.

Featured Festival sponsor – Bellarine Veterinary Practice
Tel. (Drysdale) 03 5253 1393                        http://www.bellvet.com.au
The Bellarine Veterinary Practice is a welcome sponsor/participant in the Festival’s 2017 Treasure Hunt. The Practice consists of six clinics in Barwon Heads, Drysdale, Grovedale, Newcomb, Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale that, between them, employ more than 70 staff, including veterinarians, nurses and hospital attendants. Three of the clinics are fully equipped veterinarian hospitals and the Practice as a whole offers comprehensive veterinary services, including vaccination, imaging, surgery, dentistry, and microchipping, as well as a range of animal health and wellness programs.

Bellarine Veterinary Practice regards itself as not just a vet clinic but as part of its community and it supports a laudable number of community organisations and events related to animals, education and well being. The Festival of Glass committee is delighted to welcome Bellarine Veterinary Practice to the 2017 Treasure Hunt and we hope that the Practice benefits from its participation.
